HLT42015 - Certificate IV in Massage Therapy

This qualification reflects the role of massage therapists who provide general health maintenance treatments. It does not reflect the role of a remedial massage therapist. Practitioners may be self-employed or work within a larger health service.To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 80 hours of work, as detailed in the assessment requirements.

  • This qualification reflects the role of massage therapists who provide general health maintenance treatments. It does not reflect the role of a remedial massage therapist. Practitioners may be self-employed or work within a larger health service. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 80 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.

  • The HLT42015 Certificate IV in Massage Therapy qualifcation is made up of 13 units and takes 12 months full time to complete, as a traineeship.

  • You will learn mostly on the job, in a practical real world way! In addition to this you will be supported with online activities such as reading, research, projects. You will also have assessment work for each unit of learning.

  • Yes, your trainer will work with you to make sure that you are ready to be assessed in each unit, or cluster of units. You will need to complete your theory assessment, your workplace supervisor will confirm that you have undertaken the tasks as part of your work and then your assessor will observe you at work to confirm your competence. Sometimes you will need to be observed over a number of visits.

  • HLT42015 Certificate IV in Massage Therapy is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway as a traineeship. You will need to find a practicing masseur to take you on as a trainee, where you can work and earn while you learn or you can already be employed and be able to use your current workplace for completion of workplace projects while you learn.
